Why do Medical Aid Rates Differ?

Before 2010 the NHRPL set mandatory fees for mental-health services. A High-Court ruling in mid-2010 ended publication of new lists, so practitioners now set their own rates.
Each medical aid reimburses a chosen percentage above the (now outdated) 2010 NHRPL figure — for example “NHRPL + 5%” or “NHRPL + 100%”.
